Easy home repairs to consider during this year’s spring cleaning

With snow falling in the Milwaukee area just last week, it’s hard to imagine that the warmer weather is just around the corner. But, with that in mind, it may be time to start planning out some of your spring cleaning activities. This annual event that people across the United States engage in to help them declutter their homes, deep-clean every nook and cranny and reorganize their rooms is also a great opportunity to finally work on the parts of your house that need to be repaired or touched up.

Here are some home repair tasks you may want to consider adding to your list:

Fixing squeaky door hinges – This is a piece of cake, since it’s usually something a little WD-40 can fix. If that doesn’t solve the problem, try rubbing some petroleum jelly on the hinges.

Making your linoleum look good as new – If you have young children running around in your home with their sneakers on, you may notice that certain parts of your floor have gotten scuffed up. If this is the case, Real Simple recommends rubbing the spot with toothpaste and a dry cloth.

Repairing your blinds – Fortunately, at Bazaar Home Decorating, we have all the tools needed to fix your Milwaukee window blinds and shades. Although many people may consider taking this on themselves, we recommend working with professionals who can get the job done correctly and efficiently. This means there will be a lower likelihood of your blinds needing to be repaired again next year.

Touching up your walls – If you haven’t put on a fresh coat of paint in a while, there may be some areas of your walls that look less than perfect. With this in mind, you may want to consider filling in dents and small holes with spackling compound and re-painting as needed.
