Last minute holiday hosting prep

If you'll be hosting Christmas Eve festivities tonight, you may be a bit frazzled right now. From decking the halls to wrapping presents and cooking the perfect holiday feast, you have a lot on your plate. But don't fret! Brighten your Christmas spirit by adhering to these last-minute decorating tips reported by Better Homes and Garden (BH&G). Even if you only have a few minutes, you can still transform your Milwaukee home into a winter wonderland:

  • Lighting: Jazz up your chandelier with holiday decorations. Simply fasten a few glass or silver ornaments to the fixture with ribbon.
  • Old-fashion glamour: To give your ordinary Christmas stockings a glamorous update, attach an antique brooch, small ornament or jingle bell to the cuff. You can even try this trick with your window fashions. Simply add the decorations to the gathering of your custom curtains and drapes for an extra dose of pizzazz.
  • Presents: "Give an ordinary pillow a touch of Christmas style with holiday-theme silk scarves," writes BH&G. "Wrap scarves around a pillow to resemble a package, and tie the ends together in a pretty bow."
  • Stylish centerpiece: BH&G recommends filling a glass bowl with shimmery ornaments and then placing white candles atop. Then, drape silver beads around the creation. This looks great on a coffee table and can even be used throughout the winter, as the white color scheme is especially appropriate for New Year's Eve.

We at Bazaar Home Decorating Center wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! Be sure to visit our Milwaukee showroom after the holiday!
