Wendy Lepkoff wins Designer of the Year Award

Wendy Lepkoff, an interior designer and the president of Wendy Interiors, Inc., won an Interior Design Society (IDS) award for her work in creating stunning kitchen decor. The award was presented at the 2014 Interior Design Society's Annual Conference, which was held over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lepkoff's award was for 3rd place in the category of "Kitchens Over $50,000." She was honored for her work in restoring the bottom floor of a home that was significantly damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The redesign features stunning marble countertops and accents, but there's a lot more to her plans than simply making the area look beautiful.

"I am extremely thrilled and honored to be recognized and chosen as on of the winner of this year's prestigious award," Lepkoff said in a press release. "This has been an extremely exciting year because I was given the opportunity to create a number of one of-a-kind designs that are not only visually beautiful, but also functional."

Lepkoff is right that function is just as important as visuals when you're redesigning an interior. It's important to note what the room will be used for and how the design will reinforce this purpose. At Bazaar Home Decorating Center, you can find a wide selection of custom window treatments that will not only make the living spaces in your house look fabulous, but also provide flexibility in terms of how much light you want to let in.
